We are deeply concerned about the life imprisonment sentence imposed on Professor Ilham Tohti, of Uighur origin. We expect that the sentence inflicted on Professor Tohti who is an internationally renowned and prominent scholar is revised in line with the expectations of the international community and that he is released.
